Michaela Marie Pickett began her dance training at the age of 6 at Los Angeles Ballet Academy. During her 12 years at LABA, she vigorously studied Classical Ballet under the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) method, passing each of her exams with Distinction, in addition to training in a variety of Jazz and Contemporary dance styles. Michaela went on to attend Chapman University, on the Chancellor’s Academic Scholarship, where she received a Bachelor of the Arts in Dance Performance and Nutrition Minor and graduated with Honors (Cum Laude). She not only continued her Ballet, Jazz, and Contemporary dance training while at Chapman, but also began to heavily train in various Classical and Contemporary Modern dance techniques. Throughout the years, Michaela studied under many esteemed teachers and choreographers, and attended an array of summer dance intensives, including but not limited to: School of American Ballet, Royal Ballet School, and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.

 

In the span of her professional dance career, Michaela danced as Company Member with Sean Greene’s Shield Wall and JESSICA KONDRATH | THE MOVEMENT, both based in Los Angeles, CA, as well as SALT Contemporary Dance II, based in Salt Lake City, UT. Michaela also took part in commercial dance work in the Los Angeles area. In addition to her personal dance pursuits, Michaela has taught at various Studios, such as Los Angeles Ballet Academy (CA), Wasatch Ballet Conservatory (UT), and Creative Arts Academy (UT) and has served as Creative Assistant for Francisco Gella Dance Works.

 

Michaela is currently pursuing a career in Nutrition and Dietetics alongside serving as an Administrator with California Dance Classics.
